World Read Aloud/Read Across America!

WORLD READ ALOUD DAY: MARCH 4, 2015!

While the weather postponed our live and virtual author visits scheduled for March 4th, students at Scotts Ridge Middle School have been celebrating the occasion by reading the visiting authors' titles, deposting questions for them in the LLC, guessing the answer to the Lemoncello Challenge (based on Chris Grabenstein's book), and reading aloud with elementary students via Google+ Hangouts.

World Read Aloud Day is celebrated every year during the week of Dr. Seuss' birthday and is an annual worldwide celebration of literacy. The SRMS Book Group lined up four author visits, one live and three virtual. The authors include: Chris Grabenstein, Michaela MacColl, Kate Messner and Laurel Snyder. Chris Grabenstein and Michaela MacCool will be visiting SRMS later this spring, when snow will no longer be a threat!
